A Foundation of Leadership and Accountability
Strong leadership is fundamental to Copper Mountain’s safe, sustainable production of copper.
Our leadership instills a shared vision, mission, and core values that guide the implementation of our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives throughout the company.
Stewardship Creates a Strong ESG Culture
Copper Mountain’s Board of Directors works closely with Management to oversee the implementation of the company’s ESG framework. We believe that these principles not only ensure safety, sustainability, diversity, and community wellbeing, but also help our business grow. Through new innovations that increase energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to our community engagement programs, Copper Mountain’s ESG initiatives are central to the Board and Management’s agenda.
Copper Mountain’s Corporate Governance Committee has selected the Board’s directors based on who it considers as being the best mix of skills, experience, and diversity to strengthen the company’s operational goals. Since 2020, we added four new directors with complementary and value-added skills.

Transparency and Accountability
Copper Mountain complies with the Extractive Sector Transparency Measures Act (ESTMA).
The act aims to deter corruption in the global extractive sector — including the mining industry — by making government payments from natural resources companies transparent to the public by requiring businesses to publicly report certain payments. We report payments over $100,000 made to any level of Canadian or foreign government.
